We all need protein in our diets to be able to sustain our bodies daily needs. The reason it is vital is the main nutrient that is found in protein, something called amino acids. Our body needs 20 amino acids in total and more specifically 9 amino acids called, Essential Amino Acids or Indispensable Amino Acids1. We get these special ones from our diets, particularly from animal sources. This is where the convenient, highly effective and easy to use Upgraded™ Whey protein powder comes into your life.
Whey is classed as only one of three dietary proteins that are complete and have the highest score of 1.0 on the Protein Digestibility Corrected Amino Acid Scoring (PDCAAS)2. This means it helps to provide you those 9 amino acids that are essential to your life which are: Histidine, Isoleucine, Leucine, Lysine, Methionine, Phenylalanine, Threonine, Tryptophan, & Valine. You get these and more health boosting benefits in a bag of Bulletproof whey.

Taking whey protein is really good stuff for us in numerous ways. Is it no wonder why Dave has been searching for the best stuff available on the market to give him the best results he can get from his supplemental protein powder.
Upgraded™ Whey vs Others
You get different forms of whey in all the available brands in a health food store or body building shops. The three most common varieties you will read on a nutrition label are the concentrate, isolate and hydrolysate forms. The Bulletproof choice is the whey protein concentrate form. However, that is just one factor Dave has looked into here are some more:

In the video you would have heard Dave explain how he has found in the past that some whey supplements would leave you bloated and inflamed afterwards. This is due to the food processing methods used and the source of the milk, being either grain-fed or grass-fed cows.
The two proteins in milk are casein, which makes up 80%, and the remaining 20% being made up of whey. You don’t want lots of the inflammatory casein portion. That is another reason why butter and ghee are the approved healthy dairy fats for making Bulletproof® Coffee and to be used in the Bulletproof® Diet. As Dave says, dairy can be an amazing food for someone or their kryptonite food.
Whey is the liquid that you see floating on top of yoghurt. It is a natural waste product during the making of cheese, so it was thrown away until its health benefits were discovered7. Now it is used to help boost the nutritional values of many food products.
Upgraded Whey 2.0 is different. It is made using proprietary methods to create the highest quality protein available. It is first heated to 161˚F for 15 seconds, so it is flash pasteurized. Flash pasteurization is the coolest, gentlest, and shortest pasteurization treatment allowed by law and therefore it is not raw whey. The next step is an ambient-air drying technique. This is used to ensure that the whey protein contains the highest levels of proteins in their natural forms6.
Suggested Usage and One Warning
Did you know that one pound of Whey 2.0 has the equivalent protein as 8 pounds of pasture-raised steak? That is a whole lot of good protein for you in a condensed form that you can easily keep and add to most dishes for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
